HOW IT’S MADE

For interior label MADE.com Mariko was selected to participate in their 2021 challenge to rebuild one of their furniture pieces. Together with a young talented carpenter, they were assigned to drastically redesign and rebuild one of their best-selling chairs into a more appealing design. When taking the chair apart they found out that the construct of the chair was different than initially expected. This inspired them to create a model that is more transparent and shows what is below the surface. By installing the classical armrests They created a controversial contrast with the modern plastic fabric. The end result of our chair is published on the website and social media of Made.com
